Project

The Observatory of Violence Against Women in Politics (Marsad VAWP) is a project implemented by Maharat and Madanyat, with the support of UN Women and funding from the Republic of France. It aimed to monitor and assess the impact of Lebanon’s ongoing crises on women in politics.
In its third phase, the project focused on documenting how the political and economic crises, especially in the context of the recent war, that have affected women’s political engagement. The report produced by Madanyat examines whether women have shifted from political activism to relief efforts, or withdrawn from the political sphere altogether due to mounting pressures.
